On blogging

I feel the urge to blog--I'm hoping no one will notice. :) Why blog instead of writing in a journal? Well, first of all although handwriting can convey emotion, typing is neater. Second of all you know that whatever you put on a blog may as well be read by everyone and anyone. The false idea that a journal is totally private is not present in blogging so you would never or at least ought not write about things that people ought not see. When you write in a journal, you think no one will ever see what you have written but it is inevitable that at some point, perhaps, in another lifetime, your secret notions will be discovered. In a blog, you are honest and open.

but if you have a (false) sense of privacy with a journal, wouldn't you be more open and honest when journalling than when blogging? since with blogging the idea of an audience is more real...?
